Yuk - Panda Express - I didn't even want to eat there before I tried going paleo/primal. But hey, thanks for taking one for the team. =)
Other Burger joints - though I don't know what oil they use for their fries (if you are going for fries) that are good and you can get bunless:
Mooyah's (best fries - and great burgers)
Five Guys Burger & Fries - burgers are very good and the fries are not bad but they are expensive
Wendy's - I just ask for a double without a bun and will get a side salad.
Braum's same thing as above. Pretty decent burgers. Braum's and Wendy's burger may not be as high quality as Five Guys, Mooyah's and In & Out, but they are fairly reasonable in price.

Oh no!! I am so sorry for the terrible service experience....
That was disrespectful and totally inappropriate! Hopefully you were able to get a good meal somewhere else!

it would have nice to try this food, but since my skin was white we couldn't get seated, even after an hour of waiting, once they pointed out our table that THEY said we were going to get and turned around and gave it to an Asian family that just walked in, we left feeling unwelcome, I was shocked by the poor service and the disrespect we received as a customer. would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!

Great job on the blog! This information and the map are very helpful, especially since I'm not from Portland, but spend 3/4 days a week here and end up eating out often. I have a recommendation in NE: please try NEPO 42 (NE 42nd & Killingsworth) for 'comfort food'. While barbecue isn't their primary thing (it is for their catering jobs), they do it very well and their smoked wings are amazing. They always have an excellent, often huge meat special, great salads, and will accommodate requests. The owner/chef, Matthew, a good friend of mine, may be your server, and I'm working on turning him on to Paleo, so maybe you guys can help! Thanks for all your help, and keep up the good work!

after reading your rave reviews of podnah's and seeing it named restaurant of the year by wilamette weekly I practically sprinted there for lunch last week. the ribs were lifechanging. for reals. too good to be true. I started to panic that SURELY there must be sugar in the rib rub. but all sorts of online sources proclaimed them sugar free. I couldn't have been more thrilled.

except I'm kinda paranoid about sugar, so I called podnah's today to double check about the ribs before heading over for dinner, and whoever answered the phone told me they DO use sugar on the ribs, but not on the briscut. I be lying if I said I didn't cry.

so, for those who don't mind some sugar here and there, it's more than worth it in these ribs, but sugar isn't an option for me...I'm so sad!! can we rally and beg Rodney to switch back to no sugar?!
